I agree that the Applications exam was very tough. I passed it on my third try and recommend extensive reading and hands-on testing. I agree that it is good that you need hands-on experience. However I think some questions were a bit to detail demanding

Hi Guys,

I cleared the MS CRM4 applications certification today. Scored overall 96% . CRM concepts 94%, Sales-100%, marketing-87%, service management - 100%, Service Scheduling- 100%.

I bought all the volumes of application from microsoft and literally burnt the mid night oil. What I observed is that you need to have hands on the application which comes with experience. The questions which I came across were exactly the same issues/requirements which I come across in my daily implementation scenarios. I never found any question out of the league, everything made sense except a few spelling errors may be.

My feedback upon the certification is that you need to gain some experience upon the application, just theoritical knowledge wont give you any yield else it'll just be a circle of arrears. Trust me...

Regards

I am very frustrated by the CRM applications exam. I took it the first time with minimal studying because I had a second chance voucher. I scored a 62%, so then I studied the areas where I thought I was weak and scored a 64%. I waited a month and spent a solid week studying until I could get all the study guide questions correct with ease, and then I also got a 100% correct on the Applications assessment exam on the Microsoft learning web site (it was tricky because the web site is screwed up and you have to select "review the questions" in order to answer them otherwise it kicks you out), I then took the exam a 3rd time and took my time, went through all the questions a second time and was not sure on only 5 of my answers but I thought I had pretty good guesses. I got a 64% again!! I was absolutely shocked. Something is definately wrong with the way this exam is written, or some of the answers are wrong. Given how many mistakes are in the course materials, I believe some mistakes also exist in the test.

Raj,

Sorry, but I haven't heard much about the Application exam lately. If I had to guess, they would've addressed a few of the incoherent questions but overall the exam would remain intact.

Best of luck to you!

Yeah Christian, I can vouch for the Installation exam being passable, and commentors on my blog have managed to pass the Customization exam with room to spare, but I haven't heard of anyone passing the Applications Exam. Folks sound pretty upset about that one!
