Welcome to big CRM stylin’!

Here you will find the latest information regarding Microsoft Dynamics CRM and occasionally other Dynamics solutions.

The focus is on general news and tips for the intrepid CRM Administrator, as well as something for even the newest CRM user.

CRM 4.0 SharePoint List Web Part *finally* released!

crm-sharepoint-web-part-01This news is a bit stale by now, but this web part is too important of a tool to go unmentioned.  The CRM 4.0 SharePoint List Web Part was finally released at the end of December!  Unquestionably, the future of Dynamics CRM is hinged on combining its strengths with SharePoint, and this integration will be prominently featured in the next version (v5.0).

In the past, many CRM developers have created their own web part by modifying the v3.0 version or by other means, which Microsoft would instantly label as an “unsupported solution”.  Fret no more!  The supported Microsoft solution can be downloaded at the link below.  It is easy to install and easy to configure.

    Hi,

I have added crm webpart on sharepoint, now when I am adding the webpart and tryin to configure it, I am getting error.

You must specify a valid Microsoft Dynamics URL to continure.
Use the same URL that you use to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM from Microsoft IE.

For your information, I am using the same url and the logged in sharepoint with administrator, the same user is crm admin.

  • I’m not sure what your webpart issue could be, but I would first troubleshoot it this way…

As the error message says, double check the CRM site URL you configured in the webpart. Check the CRM website URL against IE to see if its down. Make sure the port is properly typed if you use one (eg. http://crmserver:5555). Try entering the ip address of the CRM website.

    Gook luck!
