Update Rollup 3 is now available for Microsoft CRM 4.0 (KB 961768)

As promised by the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Team, the latest regular hotfix rollup was released! There are hotfix updates for the CRM Server, as well as resolving some performance issues with the CRM Outlook Client. Check out the links below.

As per all Update Rollup versions, there are issues when trying to import customization XML files with different Update Rollup versions. In this case, Rollup v3 is incompatible with v1. It always pays to check the KB Article page for the details.
As reported previously, the Dynamics CRM Team Blog commented on an Update Rollup schedule:
The CRM SE team is planning to release Update Rollups on 8-week cycles; therefore, Update Rollup 3 is scheduled for mid-March. While quality is the focus of every release, we are also trying to be predictable in our release schedule so that our customers can schedule deployments of our Update Rollups with confidence. In November, when we released Update Rollup 1, we set the date of Update Rollup 2 to January 15th and we met this timeframe. We will do our best to establish a release rhythm that our customers can come to depend on.
CRM 3.0: Update Rollup 3 withdrawn today (UR3, KB 935364)

According to Guyriddle, the latest Update Rollup 3 for CRM 3.0 was withdrawn from its Microsoft Knowledge Base article website (KB #935364) due to “a regression discovered in one of the included fixes”.
Apparently there was a flawed hotfix in the Update Rollup 3 package that may prevent users from accessing Service Activity record information. This flawed hotfix is related to other hotfixes included in the package, which is likely why the Microsoft Sustained Engineering Team pulled it from the website today.
I will post to this blog as soon as this issue is resolved and after the Update Rollup has been reposted for download. The full excerpt can be found below.

CRM 3.0: Update Rollup 3 ready to download (KB 935364)

Thanks to Larry’s Taco Talk, I was informed this morning that the latest Update Rollup for Dynamics CRM 3.0 was released today! Great for those who haven’t taken the plunge yet with CRM 4.0… despite the many reasons one should! 
According to the description:
Update Rollup 3 is a tested, cumulative set of updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Server and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Outlook, including performance enhancements, that are packaged together for easy deployment.
There are two separate downloads:
- CRM Server update – CRM3.0-KB935364-v2-Server-ENU.exe (6MB)
- CRM Outlook Client update – CRM3.0-KB935364-v2-Client-ENU.exe (10.2MB)
